It would be better to read some books on the subject before expresseing such
blanket opinions.  I'm sure that all the HT haters would love to agree with
you, Les but there are many, many documented opinions supporting the rejection
of ET in the 17th, 18th & 19th Centuries because of what Micheal cited.  Most
certainly, music of three hundred years ago did not support rapidly beating
3rds.  1/4 comma Meantone (pure 3rds) was the most common mode of the time
before Bach.
