pianoissimo playing.  With increased spring pressure and balancier pinning,
there is more of a bump at the beginning of escapement. This is also another
big difference in the modern grand action and the Viennese actions.   
   Stephen Birkett,  you out there and want to comment on this? I understand
that properly regulated fortepiano actions didn't have the escapement
occurring in the key stroke, but rather, it happened simultaneously with the
key hitting the bottom of the dip, i.e., no aftertouch at all?  Is that right?
