AMEN!  I know as a pianist that many passages, particularly in Beethoven
with his heavy bass figurations, are almost impossible to play on a
modern piano.  I learned this years ago when I played Kenneth Drakes
piano and was shocked to find I could actually play some of those
passages.  The tones of the heavy bass sonorities were actually clear
instead of just alot of powerful mud.
