>Dear Leslie, > >Thank you for indicating how serious you take this profession. It doesn't >take a rocket scientist to ruin any piano. I thank you also for bringing the >level of discussion back to where it was. The titles RPT , MPT , IPT (created >by occasion) mean no more than the person honoring it. > >Cyrillus Aerts IPT >University of North Texas Since others are spouting their opinions about matters they seem to deem relatively unimportant, I shall choose to speak briefly of these same matters I deem of importance. I don't agree with your assessment of titles Mr. Aerts, nor do I agree with Mr. Barlett's simplification of the relative ease of piano work. There is honor, respect, and integrity in the title of Registered Piano Technician (RPT) whether I as an individual honor it or not. While I am somewhat surprised at Lesile's aloofness in his statements having personally met him, I find your statements lack foundation in practical experience of associative time spent in the company of RPTs on the chapter, regional, and national level. Thank you for your time, Keith A. McGavern kam544@ionet.net Registered Piano Technician Oklahoma Chapter 731 Piano Technicians Guild USA
