Ron, et al... Yes, this book is available under the name "The Encyclopedia of Wood." I should have mentioned that. However... The Wood Handbook is a publication of the US Dept. of Agriculture, Forest Service. As such, it is in the public domain. That is, it is printed without copyright. Therefore anyone can reprint as they wish. This is wonderful for those of us who have a need to access this information. However there is a problem as well. The problem is that you will occasionally find copies of the book, The Encyclopedia of Wood, being sold as the latest and greatest when, in fact, it is actually the previous (1974) edition of the Wood Handbook. If you go this route, make sure that it is a reprint of the 1987 edition. Del --------------------------------- Ron Nossaman wrote: > Check your local book stores too.
