I'm glad you said that, Dale! This thought occured to me when I was complaining yesterday but I've never tried it. I'll give it a go next time. Have you ever used the Papps mute under the hammers like I do? The hammer will normally clear the mute in all but the smallest spinets and compact actions. It's a little noisy at times but it is faster to insert than a wire mute. Another thing it can do it go between two strings of the unison up in the high treble where you want to tune one string at a time and then tweak up the unison. On note 88, I put it in to mute both outside strings, then mute center and left and then the other two and then listen to the unison. Most of the time you are already finished! > Have to confess that my muting patterns change every now > and then. I get bored or think I can do it faster another way. So the usual > disclaimers apply. Hope to see you in Providence. I wish I could go,Dale, but I'm behind the 8-ball because of all the problems with my mother and that week I spent moving my daughter from Seattle to Virginia. We've got three weeks in September planned for the Virginia area. I think I'll make it next year. Sincerely Warren -- Warren D.
