Sorry to hash this further, but it's been a "thing" of mine for decades. I went to a class taught by Jim Bryant in Fort Worth couple of years ago. He didn't teach us anything. He just asked irritating Questions. Maddening! Yet it was the Question that stimulated thinking that lasted for days/weeks/a lifetime, which caused one to wonder "why" and to see new ways of looking at an issue. I was a student of Virgil Smith long before I got interested in piano technology. He was never satisfied with us. Maddening! Yet, he instilled in us the notion that, no matter how thorough one's knowledge, there was still more to be learned, a new way to view, experience, to wonder "what's it all about". When I completed my pilot's license, the examiner said, "This license does not give you permission to call yourself a pilot. It is a permission slip to LEARN to be a pilot."
