Plate Casting: Metal Heads

How do I get more information on Plates, and casting.

Speaking with "Oil guys" (while pounding fine sand) I understand the materials
of this science have realy made some leaps....example...spray a can of "XXX"
on special steel..and it can be bent like pretzel..any "METAL HEADS" out
there?

I've been trying to learn how to cast plates for years...where are you?
