Just figured it out..TO easy: Try a Quite time / TFT MIDI unit from Piano Disc. Run it thruogh the PA system, wipe them off the stage!!! Need a digital decibal meter? No need to change the touch, "CAN'T break the strings...and it's pretty inexpensive, check out PianoDiscs WEB page. Good luck...the stings still shouldn't break. No matter what as far as I've "witnessed" Have you actually been on hand whe one "popped". The only bass string I actually "saw" break during a show with my own eyes, was broken at" both" ends. THis man had not only force..but velocity. Maybe he was a picher or something..big guy..big hands...and well the string just "leaped out of the piano, put a nice scratch on the inside of the lid.
