Sure... one is a 1915 Bell piano that had everything saying "Bell" removed and "STEINWAY GERMANY" added to the plate and fallboard. They did not remove the "Illimitable Repeating Action" badge though. It had been refinished with a thick epoxy finish and had not been taken apart. There was overspray everywhere and of course, the action is shot. "Frozen shut" isn't the word for this one. The front board comes off (showing action felts rock hard with overspray) but there is no room for the action to come out. The owner refuses to allow the epoxy to be "broken" around the joints so it can be serviced properly. He's so proud of his "German Steinway" too... or was until I had to tell him what it really was. This was the first of several counterfeit Steinways I've seen and it never gets any easier telling a piano owner that they have a "fake".
