mediaring/talk

Hi Paul:  I haven't tried to ring you yet as our time difference of 3 hours
makes it difficult.  Perhaps you could help me......I am hooked up and when
I dial my daughter's number (she is on mediaring) I get the knocking message
but never a connection.  Do you have any idea why this might happen?  When
that knocking message comes up I assume that the other phone is ringing
