Well "good is in the eye of the beholder" :-)
 One method is to cut a block at the height you want the bottom of the 
backcheck to be..............cut a slot in in for the backcheck wire to slip 
into and when you are installing the new backchecks they will bottom out on 
the block and will all be at the same height.........works for grands and 
uprights...............
