boring hammers & new strings

Hi,

	I have measured the keybed to the string height and keybed to the
hammer flange center pin to get the boring distance for some grand hammers.


	Could this be done on the old strings or should this be taken after
measuring the the distance with new strings.  I would like to rebuild the
action while waiting for the new strings to be made.  I am not replacing
the pinblock.

Any help?
