A=440, or not?

In order to explain to potential customers why pianos should be maintained
at A=440 (standard pitch) I sometimes say (especially if they have a child
who is or will be taking lessons):

"You wouldn't show your child "green" and tell him it was "blue" would you?
In a similar way your child should not be playing a "C" and hearing a "B".
They all seem to understand.
