I am currently trying to regulate a S$S M 1972 that plays hard (up65 dn24
for example), and the friction seems to be from the hammers that swing 3 or
4 times only. I've polished capstans and b.r.pins, and tefloned the knucks
etc. I then did something for which I am fully prepared to endure the
flames, I used protek on a few sluggish hammers and increased the number of
swings by 2 or 3. Surprise! I don't know how long lasting or why, I am just
reporting the facts. It didn't seem to help decrease the downweight but did
increase the upweight. Am I hallucinating? Any helpful thoughts
appreciated. Or non-helpful but at least humorous.
