You might have run into a transposing piano. The action can shift to transpose the key 1/2 step in either direction. I've seen more harpsichords that do this than pianos (only one piano) but that is the most likely explanation. Or maybe it's like those extra buttons on the bottom of a dress shirt, spare parts. ;-) Jonn S.
