Keep your tuning lever at 10:00 position and they are tunable, more or
less.

S&S uprights do not have plate bushing to help support the tuning
pin.  The further the bottom of the coil is from the support of the
pin block the more flag polling will occur.

Keeping you tuning hammer as close as possible to  the 10:00 position
helps counteract this tendency.
