This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment List, Thanks for the replies. I've had this computer for a month now and wish = I had broken down and purchased one earlier. For those who are concerned = that I'm ignoring the ultimate solution (a competent restoration), this = was my first recommendation. The owner realizes this and is planning on = it in a couple of years but just wants it better in the meantime. = Fortunately the sound board and bridges were left alone and are in = exceptional condition for the age, no cracks in the board and very minor = hairline cracks by the bridge pins, although I didn't check for crown = and won't know the sonic potential until I get further into it.(Yes I = know that many of you consider any board more than 30 years old "shot" = and yes there is a difference in the sound of a "fresh" board but I know = many pianos with "shot" boards ( 30+ year old) that are excellent = musical instruments and to my ears posses certain qualities not readily = gotten in new boards (all engineering proofs aside). Anyway the first = thing I plan to check when I return is if the wire used was the correct = scale before I proceed with anything. Thanks again.
