The May issue of Musical Merchandise Review on page 16 had a story and picture of a new 5'9" grand by seiler called the "Meteor". I will quote the story word for word. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------- This piano was featured at the recent Frankfurt Music Fair. The unique instrument features a silver, silk-matte finnish and a variety of automated amenities. Before the pianist can play, a button must be pressed which with the aid of three lift spindles controlled by a gear motor, lifts the piano approximately eight inches. At the same time the pedal unit which is tilted forward when at rest, is raised into its normal vertical postion. Similarily the keyboard lid is also raised with aid of a worm gear and gas spring for weight compensation. Then the upper and lower lid "take off" with the aid of a spindle motor. The Meteor is equipped with Seiler's patented DuoVox system and MIDI output so it can be converted from acoustic to electronic mode. The Meteor also makes an upright version. ___________________________________________________ The picture is poor and doesn't aid much to the above description. Maybe we can coax them into bringing this contraption to the PTG Convention in Kansas City this summer. Sy Zabrocki
