Sostenuto headache

Clyde:

I'd have to speculate that the rod is just a little too close to the damper
levers.  If pulling the action out solved it, moving the bar back (toward
the backchecks) just that same amount should do the same.  This would allow
the action to be in the right place, and also solve the sostenuto problem.
