"pounding" and ear-plugs

Clarification:

The delayed thump, click, or bump that I hear is in my ear. It is not from
the piano, but is being caused from the overly loud sounds coming from the
piano during test blows and impacting in my ear.

When I have a lot of pressure in my ears (say by the 3rd tuning of the day),
probably from some internal swelling, I sense an after-shock reverb/thumping
in my ear. It's always about 30 to 50 milliseconds after an impact sound
(hammer whack). It's not a difference tone, or a pitch. It's more like a
thumping sensation in my ear. It's like an audible tick when it gets really
bad.

I know that I'm killing my ears here, so I will seriously look into ear
plugs. I just haven't bought them yet because standard foam plugs cut out
too much information.

I'll call PianoTek in the morning. Those 12 decibel jobs sound like a good
deal.
