No, not stupid at all, but it may be un-answerable. What are the correct
pitches for any of the unisons in Yamaha pianos, other than A-4? The rear
duplex is theoretically supposed to be some partial of the speaking length
to sing along and augment the overall sound. "Tuning" them may help, at
least some folks think so, but it's really not possible to keep them in
tune with the speaking length. There's about a week's worth of reading in
the archives on the subject if you want the gory details. Del also
published an article in the Journal on the subject that sums it up more
succinctly. As for the Yamaha specifically, measure them and compare
against the speaking lengths. Then do the math. Or pluck and ponder.
