List, I tuned a Baldwin Hamilton yesterday with the worst catchers I've ever seen. Everything looks as it should but the buckskin (imitation?) is like glass and the backcatches won't hold them. The obvious remedy is to replace the buckskin, but the cost is an obstacle. What about just roughing the surfaces with a checkering file or coarse sandpaper? Opinions? Paul S.
