Paul, By the 1840's, I think Wornum (again...) was the only English maker not using heavy iron bracing or even hitchpin plates. The 1840-1850 era Broadwoods look very similar to their _18_90's instruments, where the earlier ones have narrower tails and square, full height cheeks (like the Beethoven instrument and _17_90's pianos).
