Steinway Fallboard Question

I've seen some Story & Clark consoles that work this way. You have to slide
the top to remove it. Lifting will not work--tried that before. :-) And
my first modern Everett console was against a wall. I spent a few minutes
before I checked the back to see the Allen bolts in the blooming backside!

Hi Jeannie,

I once :-) received a useful piece of wisdom from a _piano salesman_, he
said, if you can't figure how to open some part of a piano, try _sliding_
it.
It has saved me numerous times.
  Diane
