String breakage in relation to hammer mass

Michael,  If you liken it to tack hammers vs mallets, I would imagine =
the extra mass of a heavier hammer increasing the chance of string =
breakage - all else being equal.   If we use the good old basic  f =3D =
ma, extra force would be exerted to the strings.  Yes? No?  Maybe I've =
