If the original holes are destroyed to the rail is not holding well
get some T-Nuts of just the right size.  Enlarge the hole enough to
accept the barrel of the T-Nut and drill tiny holes through the finish
to accommodate the retaining pins.  Drive them into place and
reinstall the rail.  Adjust according to my other post.  It should
work.
