"Cycles Per Sec vs. Cents/Ratio

If you use spread sheets the following formula will paste directly in. (Quatro and
MSworks). MSworks ignores the @ symbol.  

@LOG(442/440)/@LOG(2)*1200

This returns 7.851415 

this is the cents "difference" betweeen A442 and 440. If you put a smaller freq "on
top" you get a neg number.   ie     LOG(440/442)/LOG(2)*1200      gives -7.851415. 	

So for the cents difference between any two frequencies put them in place of
442/440. 
It also works for ratios  like 3/2.  or 18/17.   or 81/80           . ---ric
