Container Pianos

Hello Gentlemen,

I am an RPT in Austin, TX who is often called to inspect what I believe are
Japanese container pianos. I am curious who is the primary importer of
these instruments? I have heard of Victory Enterprises, but I don't know
about the other sources. Is it true that Kawai has an entire sales division
dedicated to distrubution of Japanese trade-ins that they then ship to the
USA?

Yes, Yamaha appears to want to shut-down the gray-market by refusing to sell
parts for Domestic Japanese sold Yamaha pianos that have since migrated to
the USA. However, I've seen beautiful container pianos that have held up
well in our humid weather. (Yeah, I hear that the "snow" is different in
Japan too).

Who is the most reputable source of late model Japanese container pianos?
I'd like to find a good "wholesale" source of premium pre-owned Yamaha
pianos, preferably 10 years old or newer. 3 pedal pianos only please.

Thanks,
Brian Henselman, RPT
