Pat,

You don't necessarily need to uncheck "include message in reply" unless you
don't want the original message there for your reference.

I recommend that you uncheck the block "reply to messages using the format
in which they were sent." If this is checked and you reply to a message
which was sent in html format, your reply will have those yuppy things. or
will be in an odd color, or other such things which grate on the nerves of
some of our list subscribers (not mentioning any names you understand, Ron).
