Careful Though,
     Backcheck travel varies with dip which may affect ability to attain
high checking.   Additionally if one shortens blow distance without
altering dip, increased aftertouch results, which is more jack travel
beyond letoff.  That means the jack must also go further to get back
under the knuckle which translates to slower repetition.
