Wally, This does exist in compromised form. Many keyboards come with preset tuning tables, some even with controllable parameters. For features of a given unit, check http://home.att.net/~microtonal/ In cases where tables aren't present, MIDI pitch-bend information can be used in a more limited capacity. Sound Blaster-compatible soundcards are one such example MIDI, which is integral to most of the examples given, is based on the ubiquitous 12-tone Equal Temperament and its logarithmic cents that make irrational intervals appear ideal. The tables show many instruments with 1-cent resolution, others with 1/64 semitone, seeming very small adjustments but which prohibit tuning pure intervals. Regards, Clark
