I once had a pair of different tunings in a room and there was a weekend of practise for "Rhapsody in Blue". The Kirnberger and ET didn't get along very well, and both of the players automatically assumed that the different tuning was the problem. <sigh> It was a net loss. bygones.... If a professor wasn't going to accompany other pianists for a tuning cycle, and you pitched it as added resource, say, "this tuning will give you a broader coverage", or some such snake oil, they may look up it as having extra tools.
