OK Ed and Newton, I'm not sure I understand yet. Greater bearing
area......hmmmm....OK then, why not have a larger diameter round pin?
I'm sure round ones would be easier to manufacture. What part does the
felt play in the equation? Does not the end of the key travel in an
arc? Does not the oval shape decrease the angle of attack between the
felt and the pin, when compared to a round shape of the same effective
surface area? Did I just answer my own question?

East Tennessee - Looking forward to the next C-3.........OK, I'd even
take an Acrosonic......just no more spinets made by furniture
people........please........just for a while......
