Terry: I don't know if the archives are "dead" or not, but I have a suggestion. There is an old saying along the lines of "many hands make light work". That is the thought that I use when developing a "key striking" technique. Quite simple in reality - use more than one finger on any given note at a time. I use either two or three fingers at a time to take the total impact off of only ONE set of finger joints. And as a side benefit - there is no key hammer to lose. Hammer or no, the strain on your wrist is going to be the same as I see it, but I am no ortho specialist either. John R. Fortiner Billings, MT.
