Okay, and now back to the subjest of pianos.... An idea occurs to me: 1. Drill a hole through the other side of the rail. 2. With a small bit drill around the broken screw so that it becomes loose. 3. Using the hole on the underside of the rail, punch the screw out of the top hole. 4. Fill the original screw hole up with a mixure of saw dust and epoxy. 5. When cured redrill the screw hole and you are ready to start over. It would seem that what ever method is used the original screw hole will be ruined anyway. The epoxy may be a bit sticky on the screw at first but if enough saw dust is mixed in it may not be that bad. As an alternate method, if the hole is in good enough shape it may be possible to clean the hole with a drill bit and then insert a small dowel to plug it. The grain of the dowel wood would be oriented the wrong direction, but it would be natural material. Okay, that's my idea. Have fun. Rob Goodale, RPT Las Vegas, NV
