I think this is one of those ideas if you know it you say of course but if you don't you say Why didn't I think of that. To hold the fall board closed when moving a grand piano take some soft paper, napkins or paper towels or toilet paper or such and make a roll about 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch in diameter and about 4 to 6 inches long. Take a strip of soft cloth about 2 inches wide and about 6 feet long and tie one end around the middle of the roll of paper. Open the fall board about half way and push the roll of paper between the top of the fall board and the bottom of the pin block so that it falls over the back of the fall board. Shut the fall board. pull on the strip of cloth so that the roll of paper comes up tight against the back of the fall board. Run the strip of cloth over the front of the fall board and down under the key bed and tie it to what ever is convenient, the shift lever or a beam. To remove this untie the cloth, open the fall board about half way and pull on the cloth to pull the roll of paper out. I got this idea from a dealer who brought me a grand to work on. When I asked my wife for a strip of old cloth she just pointed at her cloths closet. John Dewey
