Sound 'seems' to travel slower in high humidity conditions and it also changes character if not frequency. For example an M-16 or AK-47 sound differently during a foggy period than they do when the weather is clear. and more different still during a rainstorm. Each take on a 'deeper' sound and neither maintain the pitch that they have when it is dry. Now whether this is due to the 'highs' being absorbed by the moisture or the 'lows' being reinforced by the moisture it is true, it weally weally is. :-) Jim Bryant (FL)
