Ayyeee!! Don't clean the glue! Keep them all in original order, too If you
will repin and clean, etc, then you just brush on a light coat of moderately
thin hide glue, press them together in their original position, and leave
them alone. The shoepeg( the wooden pin) should be pushed out about halfway
before you put the glue on, and then tapped into place with the flange in
place. This tends to draw the pieces together and holds them firmly while
the glue sets. Push the springs in right after you do this and they will seat
back in their original dents.
