Pat;
As the most recent recipient of the lists generous assistance vis a vis SAT
battery change......................
material needed:
4 AA NicCad batteries..600MAH or better. (use the best rating available)
soldering iron
solder
adhesive (I used pvc-E)
tape
wire nippers

1. In each of the plastic connectors holding the unit together there is a
'pin' that needs to be pushed into the unit until it falls free. There are
six connectors in all and the pins will need to be reused to put the
connectors back in.
2. After all the pins have been pushed in remove the connectors and set aside.
(I used a cup to hold the connectors and pins)
3. Pull the front of the SAT up and with a folding motion tilt it backwards
until you find a resting place for it. (there are ribbon connectors that will
prevent removing it entirely)
4. The batteries are glued to the bottom of the base and will need to be
chisled/cut free.
5. Make note of which wire is fastened to positive and negative poles and
snip wire leads.
6. Construct a new battery pack using solder and soldering iron.
7. Tape the batteries together tightly.
8. Resolder the wire leads.
9. Glue the battery pack in the same place as the old one was removed from.
10. After glue dries put the front back on and the connectors back in.
11. Charge your new battery pack..........................

I think that covers it. :-)
