This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Most tech's tell me that they receive about 1 bounced check every 10 = years. That's not bad. My experience is about the same although I have = received them for other things. =20 The question is, do you want to win the battle or the war? =20 Personally, I prefer to win the war. My wife and I would rather = keep peace and have a repeat customer. We usually call the bank every = day and see when there is enough money to cover the check. When there = is, we will then go to the bank and get a cashier's check for it. We = won't call the customer unless we cannot resolve it on our own within = about 3 weeks. I've never had a bounced check that I couldn't collect = on. =20 =20 On a side note: About 6 months ago, I ordered a mail order product = that cost $225. The company sent two of them. I used my debit card. = My house payment cleared the bank and so did the 2 products they sent, = but the dozen other little checks for $20 each (like my water bill) = bounced. Their little oversight cost me $600. Of course it is an out = of state company so there's no way to collect. The company was = absolutely NASTY to me about it. (Telling me and my wife how stupid we = were to order 2 when we only wanted 1). 4 months later the corporate = headquarters finally gave me about $200 in products (that cost them $20) = to keep peace but I won't go there again. =20 To make a long story short, I finally recovered. I appreciated the = businesses who worked with me. Many businesses didn't charge a bounce = fee, they apologized for calling me and expressed thanks for my doing = business there. Well, guess where I still shop? Ron=20 ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
