re your question about websites, You need several tools to create the pages
you see on the net. There are a bewildering number of them out there, from
free to very expensive. You can try most of them by downloading a free
timelimited version from a companies website.

You need one in each category to give you the freedom to be really creative.
The only impediment becomes your skill level. If you put the program name in
a search engine, you'll get to the company.

an HTML editor program    -   I use HIPPIE97  which lets you write the html
text, at the same time see what's happening, lots of help wizards etc, very
easy to use.

a graphics editor     -     I use PaintShopPro not as good as Adobe
photoshop, but easier to use
a quick graphics viewer   -   ACDSEE  lets you sort and organize the
pictures and page bits one accumulates.

One of the bigest requirements is patience, ( and a knowledgable friend )
