This discussion brings to mind a situation where I used the piano tilter on a soft wood floor. I noticed the floor already had considerable damage, nevertheless I commented to the owner that I wasn't sure I could avoid making any marks at all. She told me not to worry about it, and it wasn't a problem. I am writing this to suggest that if we are ever doing anything out of the ordinary it would be wise to examine the floor, piano, etc. for damage very carefully before we start. Point out any possible problems to the owners so they don't come back at you for damage you never caused. Regards, Clyde Hollinger
