Does anyone have a fix for the following annoying problem I experience on one of the small Samick uprights? I can't recall the exact model no. but likely the SU-105 or 108. The sustain pedal lever has a dogleg only at one end (the pedal end, I believe) and an extraordinarily strong return spring which seems to cause extreme torsion along the length of the lever. This results in very little lift at the far end of the lever and rapid wear in those plastic pivot bushings. Also, the bottom board/pedal rail flexes under the pressure of the pedal as it is depressed. Would installing a weaker spring reduce the torsion and increase the lift? Beefing up the bottom board?
