Well, in short: I am 39, went to the piano school in 1989, worked for a couple of years in a restoration/rebuilding/renovating etc. shop, part-time, and did my own tunings for the rest of the time. The reason for going to this school was I wanted to learn to repair piano's. I didn't think I would like the tuning part. But it turned out I liked that too, and it went quite well. So now I do both, and I like the combination. Got my CPT status in 1998. I have my own workshop, below my house, where I do actions, but also complete piano's or grands. For some of the work I ask a freelance colleague to help out, for example for french polishing or other case work. Most of the time I work on old, pre-war piano's, which I often love most of all. The good ones, ofcourse. The danger of working alone is obvious, so I try to keep in contact with a lot of colleagues, and I am very grateful for the existence of this list, and for our new list in the dutch language. That's about it, I think. Looks like a job application, sorry about that. Back to the piano's. Best wishes to all of you, Albertien
