Yeah those nursing homes... I tune regularly for one, they have two Rippen pianos. Dishes clattering and general noise, you get the picture. Of course I have to bang on the notes to hear anything, and they just HATE me! Well some of them do anyway. I even heard one nurse walk past me and whisper to another: "I just get the creeps every time he comes here" (hopefully not referring to my general appearance or personality) To which I replied "Oh is that so?!" To which she replied "Wow, you have good hearing!" To which I replied "What did you expect?!" Smiling all the time, or should I say GRINNING American-Psycho-style? Suppose an ETD and ear plugs would be useful there. Kristinn P.S. Barb, I had the incredulity of asking them to turn the TV off! Donīt be shy, they have nothing but the right remain silent! The X amount of words spoken above a Y volume within a Z sized room is inversely proportionate to the smallest amount of time it takes you to tune the piano sufficiently and directly proportionate to the deviations from a good clean Christian* (chuckle) tuning. *Does not include EBVT (Evil Bremmerīs Vicious Tuning) <G> ( hi Bill :) )
