And, you will find hard core conservatives in San Francisco, too. But, there IS a very deep philosophical/political/moral chasm between present day liberals and conservatives. The arrogance of the former is doubly sad because it is also blind. I refer you to the map published in USA Today a couple of days ago. The percentages of victor/loser become much more dramatic as one looks at large metro areas AND at very rural areas. As the city people would not submit to domination from the rural "hicks", neither will the rural people submit to the tyranny of the cities. Only thing is, the city people do not see or understand this. There is a ticking time bomb in our nation; just as surely as there was in the 1830's and '40's. I'm not saying that this is a good thing. Far from it. But, it IS there.
