Hi List. I have been victim to "Balance Rail Felt Punching Compression" disease. Why are there 5 thicknesses available? Seems to me the thicker ones will compress more over time, resulting in all the familiar problems of shallow dip and mid-keyboard trough. Why not just always use the thin felts and just use an appropriately thick cardboard punching to make up the difference when the original was a thicker felt punching? What are the advantages/disadvantages in doing this? Terry Farrell Piano Tuning & Service Tampa, Florida mfarrel2@tampabay.rr.com
