Richard, I thought it *was* decided, around 1920 give or take a few years, when International Standard Pitch was defined as A=440 vibrations per second. Obviously, some persons are still of other opinions, so my hunch is that we will *never* be "done with it," although I agree with your sentiment. Clyde
