Newton was so kindly replying to my post regarding "how best to trim the top of wood repair plugs that stand proud that were installed in a pinblock" (i.e. plug the pinblock w/ pinblock material plugs and drill for new pins). He suggests that japanese saws that have no kerf and saw nice and flush, or to use a good sharp chisel to trim them flat to the original pinblock surface.
